3 min. readlast update: 02.06.2026

What is the $5 monthly minimum processing fee?

The $5 monthly minimum processing fee applies to active credit card processing accounts when less than $5 in credit card processing fees are incurred during a monthly billing period.

When is the $5 fee charged?

The $5 fee is billed in the following month, based on the prior month's credit card activity.

  • If no credit card transactions are processed in a given month, the $5 fee will appear on the next month's statement.

  • If credit card transactions are processed but the total processing fees for the month are less than $5, the $5 fee will also be charged the following month.

  • If $5 or more in credit card processing fees are incurred during the month, no minimum fee is charged the following month.

How will the $5 monthly minimum processing fee appear on my statement?

If applicable, the $5.00 monthly minimum processing fee will appear as a separate line item on your statement. This charge will only appear if the minimum requirement was not met for the prior month. A sample statement entry is shown below for reference.

Examples:

  • Example 1: No credit card transactions are processed in March.
→ A $5 fee will be charged in April.

  • Example 2: Credit card transactions are processed in March, but total processing fees are less than $5.
→ A $5 fee will be charged in April.

  • Example 3: Credit card transactions are processed in March and total processing fees reach $5 or more.
→ No minimum fee is charged.

  • Example 4: A $100 credit card transaction is processed and then fully refunded within the same month, with no other transactions.
→ A $5 fee will still be charged, since the net processing fees for the month are $0.

Is the $5 fee charged per transaction?

No. The $5 is a flat monthly fee, not a per-transaction charge.

Does this apply to ACH transactions?

No.

  • ACH transactions do not have a flat fee

  • ACH transactions do not have a monthly minimum

The $5 monthly minimum applies only to credit card processing.

What happens if I cancel credit card processing?

If you request to cancel credit card processing to avoid the $5 fee, the minimum fee may still apply based on activity prior to cancellation.

  • If less than $5 in processing fees (or no credit card transactions) occurred during your final month, a $5 fee will still be charged on the next statement.

  • To avoid future minimum fees, the account must be fully closed before the start of a new billing cycle and must have met the minimum requirement for the prior month.

How can I avoid the $5 monthly minimum fee?

To avoid the fee, your account must incur at least $5 in credit card processing fees during the monthly billing period.
